Water collection usually falls onto the shoulders of women and children. Time spent collecting water and resulting diseases keep them from learning how to read, write, work, and provide a better life for their families. 443 millions of school days are lost each year due to water-related diseases.

Health and Future.

Waterborne diseases are responsible for nearly 3 million deaths per year. Every 20 seconds one of these deaths is a child. Half of the world's hospital beds are filled with people suffering from a water-related disease.

This is a solvable crisis. Together we can help. Clean water provides opportunity for people to lead healthy and productive lives, giving communities all over the world a chance at a better future.

Safety and Poverty.

While hauling 40lb containers of water for miles along these walks, women and children are subjected to a risk of harassment and sexual assault.

Many of these families live on less than a dollar per day. Time spent collecting water keeps people from pursuing opportunities to work and better their lives.
